The meadow wakes to springing trees
As morning sings of flowers and bees
And opens bright its dewy eyes
To smile upon the day
The meadow plays in summer sun
Where child of deer and rabbit run
All frolicking ‘neath open sky
And dancing through the day
The meadow dons its eveningwear
Of red and golden flowing hair
And bears the fruit of Autumn’s yield
A feast for end of day
The meadow’s cheeks with frost aglow
Pulls up a thick blanket of snow
On winter clouds it rests its head
To sleep at close of day
